3rd LTTA in Czech Republic

From 9th to 12th November 2021, Mendel High School in Nový Jičín,Czech Republic hosted the III. an international meeting of students and teachers.

During the meeting, an international competition in ICT skills (spreadsheet control, use of information and online data ) was organized on 9th November 2021. Students attenting the meeting competed in school round competitions first, and then 4 most succesful ones and 2 teachers from each partner school attended the meeting in Nový Jičín . Portugal and Spain attended the meeting physically, while the teams from Austria and Slovenia attended the meeting only virtually, due to the pandemic situation in each country.

On the first day of the meeting, 5 international teams of four students were formed, who communicated together to perform individual tasks of the test example, both in personal meeting and virtually (using Google Meet). Thus, a total of 20 students competed (including 4 pupils from the Czech Republic).

The international competition aimed to test not only the students’ knowledge of information technology, but also the English language, opportunities for cooperation and communication. The competition teams had 120 minutes to process the tasks. Pupils from the international teams in the first three places were awarded valuable prizes, including action cameras, wireless headphones and mice, which were purchased by the Austrian school where the meeting was originally to take place.

The ceremonial announcement of the competition results and the handing of the certificates of participation took place on the premises of the information center in Nový Jičín, attended also by the Deputy Mayor of Nový Jičín, Mr. Mgr. Ondřej Syrovátka.

During the four-day project meeting, students and teachers participated in workshops on 3D printing and modeling, online video conferences Creativity in Business and Business Design, visited the hat museum, sky walk in Pustevny, the city of Olomouc and Štemberk Castle. An interesting highlight of the meeting was definitely also the bowling tournament.
